Curious About Commissions?
Do you enjoy my artworks, but have your own image in mind? Ask for a Commission!
To give you an idea of what I do, please see my linocut ‘Snow Day’ to your left. This is an 18” x 24” linocut commissioned by a woman living in Ottawa who is both a doctor and mother to young children. She wished to capture the feeling of escaping into the Gatineau Hills for an afternoon of cross-country skiing in freshly fallen snow. She asked for a forest and ski tracks but no people to be present. After gathering a series of photographs from a friend who undertakes winter patrols in the Gatineau Hills, I created an imaginary composite image of the scene she had described. Then, I transferred the image to an artist’s linoleum which I carved using fine linocut tools (i.e., Flexicut and Pfeil). It takes me about 55 hours just to carve an image of this size! The final image was printed with Speedball Professional black ink on Legion Revere White paper.
Please contact me if you too wish your own, unique artwork. By meeting and talking with you, I can learn about your interests, any images you may have, and we can discuss my process, approach to printmaking and my prices. There is no obligation or pressure to commit at this stage. Let’s just meet and chat!
