Who is Eclectic Eve? A woman artist captured in a moment in time; specifically, 1972 when a group of five women publishers decided to bring awareness to the experiences and artworks of women artists.

In a sudden desire to return to a daily art practice and help inspire my art studies, I signed up for the #100DayProject 2021 which began on January 31st, 2021.

Travel sketching is a passion. It is a habit I began while solo travelling and encourage everyone to adopt.

Are you pursuing the dreams you had when you were younger? Or, like me, did life ‘sneak’ in the way of those dreams?

My earliest memories of my mother were seeing her etch copper plates and run off a series of prints using the large printing press in her home studio.

My mother’s legacy had a significant impact on me and my two daughters Ciara and Teagan. Fortunately, my daughters were graced by her presence long enough to have her give them their first lessons in visual arts and influenced their choices to pursue photography and fashion design respectfully.

It is a great privilege for me to be able to pursue my life-long passion for studying art. In doing so, it is important for me to honor my mother’s legacy both as an exceptional artist and as a woman who persevered in her pursuit of this passion despite struggling with schizoaffective disorder her entire life.
