Collections and Gallery Updates

In 2024, the City of Ottawa purchased two of my 36” x 48” four-panel linocut relief prints for their permanent Art Collection from my ‘Breath and Memory’ series entitled, ‘Breath and Memory’ and ‘Still I Rise.’ This series speaks to the resilience of the human spirit, the healing power of nature and the importance of community, whether family or friends. ‘Still I Rise,’ featured in the above photo, is named after the Maya Angelou poem. And, I believe represents that point in which we must decide to either give up or move forward after significant loss.

Three of my linocut prints may be found for sale or rent within the Ottawa Art Gallery (OAG) Galerie Annexe and Shop including ‘Still I Rise,’ ‘Destination II,’ and ‘Snow Day.’ Still I Rise’ was included in the Galerie Annexe exhibit entitled, ‘A Glimpse, A Fragment, A Memory Brought to Life’ (ended June 30, 2024) and both this linocut print and ‘Destination II’ will be part of Galerie Annexe’s exhibition ‘At A Glance/Coup d’Oeil’ which will run from April 26th to June 22nd, 2025. All of these works may be viewed in the Galerie Annexe  catalog. You can also see the linocut print ‘Snow Day’ on my ‘Commissions’ page.

Finally, I invite you to read my ‘Breath and Memory’ blog entry to learn about the making of my first large-scale four panel print.
